Projector Ceiling Mounts

Projector Mounting

Choose the Mount by Ceiling Drop, Not Projector Size Alone

AVTECK offers two TEXONIC projector ceiling mounts for permanent projector installations: a low-profile mount that keeps the projector close to the ceiling and an adjustable model that lowers the projector when more drop is required.

Before ordering, confirm your projector's weight, mounting-hole arrangement, planned ceiling height and the projector manufacturer's required throw distance and lens position.

How Far Does the Projector Need to Hang Below the Ceiling?

For most installations, this is the easiest way to choose between the VX5 and VX9.

Short Fixed Drop

VX5 Low-Profile Mount

Approx. 5.9"

Choose VX5 when the projector can stay close to the ceiling and does not need height adjustment.

Adjustable Drop

VX9 Height-Adjustable Mount

Approx. 15–23"

Choose VX9 when the projector needs to hang lower because of ceiling height or planned screen position.

Compare the Two Models

VX5 or VX9?

Both mounts support many small and mid-size projectors. The main difference is how far the projector hangs below the ceiling.

Model Ceiling Drop Max. Load Rotation Best Choice When
VX5 Approx. 5.9" fixed 30 lb / 13.6 kg 360° Projector should stay close to the ceiling
VX9 Approx. 15–23" adjustable 30 lb / 13.6 kg 360° Projector needs to hang lower from the ceiling
Projector Placement
Plan the Image Before the Mount Ceiling drop alone does not determine the correct projector position.

Use the Projector's Throw Distance and Lens Position

The correct mounting location depends on the projector model, screen size and the distance required to create the planned image. Check the projector manufacturer's throw-distance information before drilling the ceiling.

When possible, position the projector mechanically rather than depending heavily on digital keystone correction to compensate for an avoidable mounting-angle problem.

Before You Order

Check These Four Things First

Projector Weight VX5 and VX9 are rated for compatible projectors weighing up to 30 lb / 13.6 kg.
Mounting Holes Confirm that the projector's threaded mounting points can be reached by the adjustable mounting arms.
Ceiling Structure The ceiling and installation hardware must provide suitable structural support for a permanently suspended projector.
Required Drop Decide whether approximately 5.9 inches or an adjustable 15–23 inch drop better matches the screen position.
Final Alignment

Fine-Tune the Projector After the Main Position Is Correct

Both TEXONIC mounts provide 360° rotation with tilt and swivel adjustment to help align the projector with the projection screen.

These adjustments are intended for final positioning. The projector, screen and ceiling-mount locations should still be planned together before installation.

Wiring the Projector

Plan Power and Signal Cables Before Mounting

Ceiling-mounted projectors usually need both power and a video connection. Plan the cable route before the projector is installed so cables reach the final mounting position without hanging loosely across the ceiling.
